Kandy Cancer Home

The Kandy Cancer Home, built in 1976, is a 65-bed facility providing accommodation and support for cancer sufferers and their families. The Home offers overnight accommodation for patients who visit the Kandy Hospital for deep-ray treatment and are unable to return to their distant villages on the same day of treatment. The Home also has a three-bed hospice facility for people in need of palliative care and provides counseling services, medication, cancer education and general support.  Without generous donations and the support of staff members, many of them voluntary, the Home would not be in existence. Over its short history the home has provided much-needed care, treatment and relief to countless cancer patients and their families.
